Julia is a paper engineer based in Madrid, Spain, who is passionate about creating vibrant pop-up videos and cards that capture everything from space travel to everyday scenes and sweets. After studying graphic design at university and developing a pop-up book as her final project, she rediscovered her passion for pop-ups during the 2020 pandemic. While working in graphic design, she longed for the hands-on feeling of making pop-ups that she had experienced in college.
She decided to specialise in paper engineering, self-taught her skills and built up a portfolio of personal projects. Showcasing her work on social media and through collaborations with friends, she began to receive commissions from publishers and companies. She now works with prestigious clients such as Penguin Random House, Burberry and Amazon Web Services, exploring her creativity in paper art.
